Terms of Service
These are the terms an order is made on. The list of work in clause 03 and the list of refusals in clause 04 are the same lists the rest of the site is built from, so what is described here is what is actually sold.

16 September 2026. We change these pages by replacing them, and the edition that applies to an order is the one published on the day the order confirmation was sent. Where a change matters to an order already under way, we say so in writing to the customer concerned.
01 Who these terms are with
PHOTOKOVA LTD, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under number 17457226, whose registered office is at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, United Kingdom, IP28 7DE. Correspondence, including notices under these terms, goes to work@photokova.com . Where these terms say we or us, they mean that company; where they say you, they mean the person or organisation placing the order.
02 What they cover, and when they apply
They cover the correction of photographs that you supply to us. They become the terms of a contract between us at the moment described in clause 05, and not before: browsing this site, sending an enquiry or receiving a quotation commits neither of us to anything.
The edition that applies to an order is the one published on the day we send the order confirmation for it. The date of this edition is at the top of the page.
03 What we sell
Digital correction of photographs of interiors that you have taken or otherwise lawfully hold, including photographs taken on a phone. The whole of the work is this:
- Perspective and levelling. Walls put back upright and the horizon put back level.
- Exposure and contrast. The dark end of the room opened up, the window held back.
- White balance and colour. One neutral for the whole room, not one per light source.
- Noise and detail. Speckle out of the shadows, edges left alone.
- One look across a set. Rooms photographed at different times, brought to one appearance.
- Cropping and export. Framing tidied, files written out in the sizes you need.
Which of these a particular order includes, which frames they are applied to, and the formats and pixel sizes the finished files are written out in, are set out in the quotation for that order. The work is carried out on copies; the files you send are not altered.
04 What is not included, at any price
These are not services we offer, and they are not available as an extra. A photograph of premises has to remain a true record of those premises.
- No virtual staging. Furniture, rugs, plants and artwork are not added to an empty room, and nothing is moved.
- No redecorating. Wall colours, flooring, worktops and cabinet fronts are left as photographed.
- No tidying away of faults. Damp patches, scuffs, cracked tiles, worn flooring, cables and clutter stay where they are unless you physically move them before you take the photograph.
- No new views. What is outside a window stays outside that window; skies are not replaced.
- No removing or adding people, and no altering signage, notices or prices shown in the room.
- No combining two rooms into one picture, and no making a room look larger than the lens saw it.
If what you need is staging or retouching of the room itself, we say so and decline the work rather than quote for it.
05 How an order is made
In four steps, and a contract exists at the end of the fourth, not earlier. You send the photographs and say what you want. We look at them and send you a written quotation, which states the frames covered, the work done to them, what you get back, the price, the turnaround and the number of revision rounds included. You accept that quotation in writing. We send an order confirmation, and at that point there is a contract on these terms.
A quotation is an offer open for the period it states. We may decline an enquiry without giving a reason, and we may withdraw a quotation that has not been accepted.
06 Price and currency
Prices are in pounds sterling (GBP). The figure in the quotation is the whole amount payable, taxes included; no fee, surcharge, handling cost or other addition is applied to it afterwards. If your bank or card issuer charges you for the payment itself, that is between you and them and we receive none of it.
There are no prices on this site, because a price cannot honestly be given before the photographs have been looked at. What a set needs depends on what the camera recorded, and that is read off your own files.
07 Payment
Payment is arranged against the order confirmation, by the method it names: a card payment through a secure link issued by Stripe, our payment provider, or a bank transfer to the account stated in the confirmation. The confirmation says when payment is due and whether work begins before or after it.
This site takes no payments. There is no basket, no checkout and no card field anywhere on it, and we never see or store a card number: those details go to the payment provider directly.
08 What you give us, and what you promise about it
The photographs, in the form described on the Packages page, together with anything that has to stay visible in them and the sizes and formats you need back. Answers to questions about the job, within a reasonable time, so that it can be finished.
By sending photographs to us you confirm that:
- you own them or have the right to have them edited and used as you intend;
- you have whatever permission is needed from the occupier or owner of the premises, and from anybody identifiable in a frame;
- they were taken lawfully and do not show anything it would be unlawful for us to handle.
You give us permission to hold and edit them for the purpose of the order. That permission goes no further: it is not a licence to publish them, show them or use them as examples of our work, and we do not ask for one.
09 What we deliver
The corrected frames, in the formats and sizes stated in the quotation, delivered electronically by email or by a download link. Nothing is sent by post, because nothing physical is produced. Delivery, what to do if files do not arrive, and how a download link is replaced are on the Delivery & Refunds page.
We do the work with reasonable care and skill. Where a frame cannot be brought to what you asked for because of what the camera recorded, we say so before it is quoted for, not after it is delivered.
10 Revisions
The quotation states how many rounds of revisions are included and what counts as a round. A round is one set of comments on the delivered files, dealt with together. Asking for the same frame to be changed a second time after comments have been acted on begins a new round.
Changes that go beyond what was quoted for - more frames, different formats, a different look for the set - are quoted separately, and the same order in clause 05 applies to them.
11 Rights in the photographs and in the finished files
The copyright in your photographs stays yours throughout; nothing here transfers it and nothing here shares it. Editing a photograph does not make it ours.
Once the order is paid for in full, the corrected files are yours to use for any lawful purpose, without limit of time, territory or medium, and without any further payment. We keep no rights over them and no watermark on them.
We will not publish, exhibit or otherwise use your photographs or the finished files, and we will not name you as a customer, unless you have told us in writing that we may.
12 Your rights under the law, which these terms do not touch
Nothing in these terms takes away or reduces a right you have by law. In particular, where you deal with us as a consumer, the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires that a service is carried out with reasonable care and skill, and that digital content is of satisfactory quality, is as described, and is fit for any purpose you made known to us before you bought it. Any wording here that conflicts with those rights has no effect against them.
What you can require if something is wrong, and how to ask for it, is set out on the Delivery & Refunds page.
13 Work we will not take
We decline work where the photographs appear to have been taken unlawfully or without the permission the premises required; where the result would be used to mislead somebody about the state or the size of a property; where what is asked for is on the list in clause 04; and where the material is unlawful. Where an order has already been confirmed and one of these comes to light, clause 15 applies.
14 What we are liable for
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Where you deal with us as a consumer, your statutory rights come first, and clause 12 says so.
Subject to that, our liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of a sale or a letting, or any loss that was not a reasonably foreseeable result of our getting something wrong.
Keep your own copies of the photographs you send. We work on copies and return your originals, but a single remaining copy of an irreplaceable file should never be one held by somebody else, and we do not take responsibility for being a customer's only backup.
15 Ending the contract
You may cancel in the circumstances, and by the means, set out on the Delivery & Refunds page, which includes the statutory right to cancel that a consumer buying at a distance has.
We may end the contract if the materials we need are not supplied after we have asked for them, if a payment that is due is not made, or if clause 13 turns out to apply. If we do, you pay for the work properly done up to that point and nothing more, and anything you have paid beyond that is returned.
16 Complaints
Write to work@photokova.com setting out what went wrong and what you would like done about it.
We acknowledge a complaint within five working days of receiving it, and answer it in full within fifteen working days. Where an answer is going to take longer than that - because something has to be checked with the payment provider, say - we tell you so before the fifteen working days are up, and say what we are waiting for. If we cannot put something right we say so plainly rather than let it go quiet, and none of this affects any right you have to take the matter elsewhere.
17 Changes to these terms
We may change these terms for future orders by publishing a new edition of this page. An order already confirmed is governed by the edition current on the day its confirmation was sent, and is not changed by a later one. Where a change would affect an order under way, we ask you first.
18 The law that applies
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or in Northern Ireland, you may bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom you live in, and the protection you have under its consumer law is not affected by this clause.
